WESTERN Bulldogs fans will look forward to seeing key forward Isabel Huntington roaming the forward line with Katie Brennan next year after the Bulldogs’ took the Sandringham Dragons’ product with the first overall pick in the 2017 AFLW National Draft. Huntington was selected just ahead of AFL Draft Central’s own Chloe Molloy who lived her dream of being selected by Collingwood, the club she has grown up supporting and which her uncle Jarrod played for.

Molloy’s Calder Cannons’ teammate Monique Conti joined Huntington at the Dogs with pick four, while Bendigo Pioneers’ tall star Eden Zanker headed to the Dees with pick six. For the interstate teams, Stephanie Cain was re-picked up by Fremantle, talented cricketer Jodie Hicks was snaffled by GWS, Jordan Zanchetta went to Brisbane and Jessica Allan landed at the Crows. Equal TAC Cup Girls’ best and fairest winner Bridie Kennedy was taken with the last Victorian selection, snaffled by the Blues.
