Player of the Week: TAC Cup – Round 10

MURRAY Bushrangers’ Ely Smith is the AFL Draft Central TAC Cup Player of the Week for Round 10. The Bushrangers inside midfielder took out the title this week in the first poll held to decide the winner, over Bendigo Pioneers’ Noah Wheeler. Smith polled 68 per cent of the vote, in a convincing and deserving win for his best game of the season.

Smith racked up 37 disposals at 75 per cent efficiency, along with seven marks, 11 tackles, seven clearances, four inside 50s, one rebound and one goal. Smith had a remarkable 13-disposal opening term, and by half-time his figure stood at 21. He breaks the recent streak of Metro players to earn the Player of the Week award, joining teammate Hudson Garoni as a nominee this season.

Must rank as one of the Top 10-20 drafted this year. Body, skills, he’s got it all.
