SUMMARY: Patrick Farrant did not go down the traditional route that you see most youngsters his age take. The Bunbury local played senior footy for his home town club and combined his duties at that level with playing a few games for Swan Districts in 2017. Despite not representing WA at the U/18 championships, Farrant's performances did not go unnoticed and he got an invite to the state combine. His teammate at Bunbury, former Fremantle and St Kilda player Brett Peake say "I’ve seen no one his age do the things that he can do without the preparation". This season saw Farrant move to the city full time and was a key part in the Swans team who went within a kick of winning the Colts premiership. Farrant has a real ability to create opportunities out of nothing inside the forward 50 and has a real goal sense. However the youngster can go through large periods of minimal impact during games and will need to add a few kilos to his slender frame to have a sustained impact at the next level.
